Listerine case moving forward

Plaintiff's motion for class certification in the case pending against Pfizer for misrepresenting that Listerine mouthwash is "as effective as floss" has been filed and is scheduled for hearing. Discovery is also proceeding in the case.

Suit filed against Progressive Financial Services

On August 4, Quat Law Offices filed suit on behalf of a Massachusetts woman who claims Progressive Financial Services of Tempe, Arizona, harassed her and lied to her in attempting to collect an alleged student loan. The case also asserts a class action claim based on Progressive's automated telephone greeting, which is alleged to unlawfully suggest that Progressive was affiliated with the Department of Education.

Settlement reached with Melia & Osol

A settlement was reached with the Worcester law firm of Melia & Osol due to certain of its
collection practices which could confuse debtors as to whether lawsuits had already been filed against them. The firm agreed to alter these practices, and also paid damages and attorneys fees
